Are you one of the approximately 178 million people in the United States who are missing at least one tooth? If so, you may be considering treatment and wondering why you should see a specialist rather than your general dentist.
Do you ever experience pain in your jaw, the muscles on the side of your face, or in the area near your ears? Do you ever hear a pop or click when chewing, yawning, or opening and closing your mouth in general?
So you’re missing a tooth. Or maybe multiple. You may just be starting to look into what dental implants are, if they’re the right solution for you. Or you might already have a dental implant surgery scheduled!
Science and technology are ever changing and advancing, which means at Washington State Prosthodontics and Dental Implant Center, we are too! Advances in modern dentistry have made it easier for dentists to get extremely detailed, almost immediate information regarding a patient’s condition while also helping them to efficiently and effectively provide necessary treatments.
If you want to know how to get the perfect smile like your favorite celebrity, we can help! You are most definitely not alone, and if we can let you in on a secret…that perfect, glistening celebrity smile you’ve been envying?
General dentistry is the branch of dentistry that is aimed at keeping good oral health and preserving your natural teeth and smile as much as possible in order to keep you looking and feeling good. It’s what most automatically comes to mind for most people when thinking about going to the dentist.
Prosthodontists, the dental implant experts, specialize in cosmetic dentistry. If you’re not even sure what a prosthodontist really is, let us help. In order to become a prosthodontist, one must not only go through four years of dental school, but also complete an extra three to four years of specialized training through either a hospital or a university-based program accredited by the American Dental Association (ADA).
By now we think it’s pretty safe to assume most people have heard of dentures. Traditionally, the most common type of dentures are removable, full dentures. When a patient has all of their natural teeth removed and the gum tissue has healed, dentures, which are often made of plastic and metal with the appearance of natural teeth and the surrounding tissues, are placed.
Whether you haven’t been to the dentist in a handful of years, you’re about to have your first ever dental appointment, or maybe it’s just your first time visiting Washington State Prosthodontics and Dental Implant Center, we know it’s something that causes many people to experience anxiety.
